We create some wonderful designer crosses with the back up birds we keep of the breeds we work. Very popular are our Cream Blue Le. A delightful cross of Silverudds Blue and Cream Legbars, this cross creates some very pretty birds that are destined to be good layers.

Silverudds Blue are smaller birds designed with production in mind. The hens are high producers of green eggs, often with speckles on them. When crossed to Cream Legbars the offspring tend to keep the smaller size of the Silverudds and get an additional boost to the blue in the egg shells. Egg colors from this cross tend to be a sea green in color. And ... since the Legbars also are good producers.. this cross makes for a productive addition to a back yard flock.

Both of these breeds also have great friendly disposition.  Chicks are a pleasure to raise and the hens I find steady and friendly. Males are great flock protectors and have dispositions so you don't have to worry about turning your backs on them.
